We collect: (1) account information you provide — name, email address, phone number; (2) content you publish — product titles, descriptions, prices, photos, categories, region and town; (3) transaction data — orders, bids, messages between buyers and sellers, reviews; (4) program data — referral points, badges, seller follows; (5) technical data — device type, browser, pages visited and in-app interactions.

Your information allows us to: create and manage your account; publish and display your listings; connect buyers and sellers and facilitate their exchanges; process orders, bids and promotions; send notifications about your account activity (messages, orders, bids); run referral and loyalty programs; prevent fraud and keep the platform safe; analyze usage to improve our services. We never sell your personal data.

You are solely responsible for the content you publish on Betta Corner (titles, descriptions, photos, prices, service information). You represent and warrant that any content you upload or publish is accurate, lawful, and that you hold all necessary rights to publish it — including copyright over images and permission to represent any person or property appearing in them. You must not upload content that is counterfeit, fraudulent, defamatory, or that infringes the rights of any third party. Betta Corner may remove, freeze, or delete any content that violates these rules and may hold you liable. You release Betta Corner from any claim related to the content you publish.

With your permission, we use your approximate location to show listings near you and calculate delivery distances. Sellers declare the region and town of their listings, which are shown publicly with the listing. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings; the app remains usable without it.

We only share what is necessary: your name and phone number are visible to the other party in an agreed transaction. We use providers for hosting, email and notification delivery (including WhatsApp), payments, and audience measurement (Google Analytics). These providers access data only to deliver their services and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

We use your browser's local storage to remember your preferences (language, theme, session) and analytics cookies to understand how the app is used. You can clear this data in your browser settings, though some features may stop working correctly.

We send you notifications related to your activity: new messages, bids, order updates, and new listings from sellers you follow. You can disable each category in the app's notification settings. Essential transactional messages (security, account) may still be sent.

We keep your data while your account is active or as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal obligations. You can edit or delete your listings and profile information at any time, and request full account deletion from the settings. After deletion, your personal data is removed from our active systems, except for security backups retained for a limited period.

Betta Corner is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We apply technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encrypted connections, strict access control, and rules limiting who can read or modify each record. No system is perfect, so we encourage you to use a strong password and never share your credentials.

You can: access your account data; correct inaccurate information; delete your listings, profile or account; withdraw consent for location and notifications; request a copy of your data. To exercise these rights, use the app settings or reach us via the Contact page.

Your data may be processed on servers located outside Cameroon, including where our hosting providers operate. We ensure such transfers are covered by appropriate data protection safeguards.

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services or the law. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will be adjusted, and we will notify you of significant changes in the app.
